yeah there's no doubt about it, we need more users. i think we need to get more active on here, and then more users will come.
we really need more users with those new mac pros that can run the bigadv units. i'm doing all i can, but we need a lot more

Simple solution: Financial Times should put out a browser version of the publication that is optimized for viewing on an iPad and simply require the same login that is does now for its web version.
I don't pay extra for the iPad version of nytimes.com on my iPad, so I use the web version instead (and it's not even optimized for iPad the way the mobile version is optimized for iPhone). I don't get the benefit of the snazzier iPad app, but I'm also not paying for it.
Apple created the iOS platform and allows third parties to develop apps for it as long as you play by Apple's rules. If you don't like Apple's rules, optimize your product to run as a web page for iPhone/iPad or just rely on the web version you have now.
Frankly, I wish more publications would do that: I would be fine to read web-based, iPad-optized versions of the New Yorker, New York Times, Newsweek, etc., if the subscription prices are cheaper than an iPad version and it means the publisher actually makes a web-based subscription available, even if it means I'm giving up some UI coolness, better graphics, etc., but not getting the iPad version.
The market works just fine.

bousozoku and all the other new moderators:
You are exactly what the forums needed to deal with the wave of spammers that have been striking as of late. I remember one member in particular (I won't name which one) had a post average of over 60 per day shortly after being banned. I know this because I checked that user's profile. 60 per day is almost surely spamming when even Mr. Anderson can't manage more than 16 legitimate posts per day - I haven't found any more active member.

34c for 3+ hours means that nap is working perfectly. It's the only possible way that any MDD would ever be under 50c for 3 hours.
I remember some cooler mornings in the spring and fall of 07 when I had my dual 867.. the idle temp was 29-31c with nap + an extra 120mm mounted on the back. Even under heavy load it never got above the mid 40's.

What is this place?
I believe this is taken from somewhere near the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong (looking across Victoria Harbor).

Yeah except Photoshop is for people like me so it is relevant.
Missed half the post, eh?
So buy a capacitive stylus already ... Insofar as a few people do need a stylus for limited applications, third parties make them. Buy one if you need it

Reason it isn't a disgrace: The white enclosure apparently was causing trouble with the camera due to light leakage. You would most likely be calling that disgraceful if they had indeed released a 500$ phone with that rather huge flaw, so I guess they can't win.

The only one that comes to mind is comedian/actor Rowan Atkinson did the adverts for them in the UK.

One really talented engineer can't support two elderly people who demand a high quality of life, and do you realize what massive immigration to Europe is going to do? It will break their culture.
If you're talking about the advance of medicine, don't sweat it. It works across all ages. Today's entry level workers will retire when they are 80+ and be able to work like they were 20 years younger. You can count on that from the "legislative" arena as well.
Now ironically, taking your words in a litteral sense....one of the big efforts of Japanese engineers has been to develop robots that will assist the elderly since they have so many and are expecting more. And these robots are also expected to be "freindly" for emotional support and stuff too...as is one of the major focuses on MIT's Artificial Intelligence lab. The guy from iRobot corp heads those efforts and is in the Discovery Channels all the time. At this point they are able to fool kids (and many lay adults) into thinking that the crude machine is "alive".

anybody have a suggestion for a good, free spyware detection program for os x 10.3?
thanks.
richie
I think OS X 10.3 *is* a good, free spyware prevention program. :p
Do you really think you have spyware? Or ummm, do you want your Mac to wear a hazmat suit and go hunting for spyware on your PC? :o
thanks.

Changed up the icons a bit since the first of the month. The wallpapers are still on a rotation of about 30 HD natural images however. Most, if not all from interface lift. =)
