Did Anyone got 2 year EAD when I-140 pending? There is some stupid assumption posted on some immigration website that USCIS is issuing 2 yr EAD to approved 140 petitions only..

Solitary 2 would have been a very strong shot if you'd been able to do two things:
Include the hole and fishing line going down into it.
Captured more of that facial expression.
Three things would have been conveyed: He's alone, he's fishing, and he's focused on his task.
You're absolutely right. I actually DID get a shot like that, but unfortunately I screwed up and clipped off more than half of his boots when framing it. Photoshop can't (easily) fix that.;)

I swear I've searched everywhere but I can't find anything on the subject. I would appreciate it if someone could give me advice on how to approach AOS.
I am the beneficiary of a LPR, currently on F1 status. My PD is current and I'm ready to file my i-485. The only issue is, I've been self-employed for 2 years. It may sound very bad, but my only source of income has been as follows,
1. Buying/selling stuff online under my business name
2. Contract work/1099's- built website templates for clients
I didn't really work for money, nor did I make much. We're talking <$5K each year. My work can thus be categorized as "hobby", but I'm not sure if that helps at all. Also, I operated via my laptop, and only ever "rarely" because I never had too much time in my hands being a full-time student.
On the face of it, I made some income, but I never lied or have been an employee. I didn't know until recently that even working "for fun" could get me big trouble.
My laywer is skeptical about moving forward with AOS, but I don't have much choice. What do you guys suppose I do? Disclose my work in the forms and take a risk, or don't disclose my work and take a risk?

billa went to Texas A and M for his Mechanical Engineering and then moved into a lucrative job at a world famous oil company in Houston. His company has offered him a permanant job and offered to do his Green Card. But they don't know he will be leaving his job to go to Dubai because of Green Card logjam and uncertaainity that prevails.

Since your I-140 is approved, your chance of I-485 RFE is very low. I think you should be ok since the key is that on the day your I-485 is approved, you must have a job offer per your labor.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to get some input from the veterans here who have started a business in partnership while they have been waiting for the coveted green card.
What kind of legal paperwork does it take to start a business? I would think as long as you don't work for the business it should be ok? If you can own part of a corporation (stocks), you can be a partner in a business?

Hello All,
Employer A filed my I-140 and it was approved. They refused to provide me the approval notice but provided me the receipt#.
Later I moved to company B. Now company B is starting my green card process.
They said I can port my priority date If I have the I-140 approval notice.
My questions are
1) Is it possible to request USCIS a duplicate copy of my I-140 approval notice
using either g-639 (FOIA) or I-824 (Action on an approved application or petition) or any other method as I have my receipt#?
2) I don't know whether or not employer A revoked my I-140. Can I used it
to port priority date even if my I-140 is revoked?

I spoke to the US mission- they dont have information yet about the process change for people who want to take appointments after 1st of Sept.
However people who have already taken appointments prior to Sept 1 are not subject to any change. They need to show up with a reciept the day of the interview as before.

I am not entirely sure but there is a provision called "Follow to Join" that allows you to apply for spouse's 485, 6 months after your 485 is approved. The only condition you need to satisfy is that you should have married your spouse before your 485 approval date. Ask your lawyer about it. I think you should be fine. About legal status since your spouse's 485 is rejected and ur h1 is invaldiated due to your 485 approval, i dont know and you need to aks your lawyer about it.

Just signing and sending the last page in the 485 which doesnt have much Data .you can save a lot of time. You can verify online the data entry work done by the para-leagl and you are good to go and save couple of days ..i moved to a small firm ( from a over priced attorney ) and he was quite good. My forms are ready to pickup by Fedex in the evening from Attorney's office
Well you have a option to hire your own attorney and get things done the way you like.... But, In my case, like many other I have to get my paper work done by the immigration attorney's part of my company in-house legal department and they are pretty good at getting things done, but not at the time farme you want to get things done.
In my case all the documents must be sitting at my attorney's desk with all the requried docs, etc.. They just need to attach the employment letter, checks and review/ship it... But have no clue when this will be done. Hope it is within the first week. Just got one email that they understand the urgenecy and will do at the earliest. No other updates.

You can extend your h1 by 1 year, if you labor has been pending more than 1 year. 3 year extension is allowed when you have the approved I-140.
If your labor is pending 180 days you can apply for a 1 year visa extension. If you get your I-140 approved under premium processing after your labor approval and before you visa expires you can apply for a 3 year visa extension. You can apply for any other new visa L, J, F etc., and continue to stay inside the country but not H visa otherwise you have to be outside the country for 1 year.
I hope this helps and good luck on your green card pursuit...

Yes, same experience with us. The school had some evaluators and they are the only ones that are considered, so check with the university for the list first.
