IF labor approves, do labor dept informs employer only or they also inform candidate?

It is totally the companies call to let you know or keep you in dark about approval/denial.

Hi,
My H1B Visa expires in Aug 2009 (it was after first extension, till date i have already consumed 3 years 6 months in US). I have following questions,
1. After filing the extension next month, Can I leave to India immediately after getting the receiept (before approval). I might plan to come back to US after a year or so! I will be working at offshore for the same company.
2. If i leave a gap of 365 days, would i regain full 6 years after my re-entry in USA with the existing Visa itself?
I am very sorry if this is a repeated question, i did spend ample time investigating this query and then decided to post this in a thread.

I am applying for a green card and my lawyer sent me a case number starting with an A and in the format : A-#####-##### for my PERM.
I tried http://pds.pbls.doleta.gov/ but it does not accept case numbers starting with "A".
Can you please tell me where I can go to look at the status of this application?
The attorneys have a login when they file the PERM electronically and only they can track or the employer can track it. As far as i know it is not open to public.

A lot of people don't submit a formal AC21 letter when they change jobs, but if you want to do so, then it is better that you don't assume that they are going to look at your h1b app and figure you used AC21.... in most cases, uscis doesn't even look at AC21 before sending an RFE or NOID when I140 is revoked. Take what you can out of this...

You can file H1-B extension based on your approved i-140 you should receive another 3 yrs extension i did the same.

are there any approvals from TSC lately ? since the online status is down, there is no way to get status updates now. Worse yet we don't get notifications on RFE's and if the lawyer did not notify on time, this is going to be a disaster..

If you get laid off, hopefully you have enough years on your initial 6 yr H1 to work with another employer an apply for a new labor and get back on track.

I have one friend who is ready to file I -485.
He found following issues with Birth certificate. Does USCIS rejects or REF I-485 for following reason ?
1) His mother�s name spelled differently in his Birth Certificate. (One letter is missing)
2) His wife's Birth Affidavit has different spelling for Father�s name. (One letter is different)
3) Is first name enought in Birth Certificate or it needs full name ?
